Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci - (born on 12th November, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej or now Onesti, Romania), Romanian gymnast. The first person in history to score a 10 for a competition at the Olympics. Bela Karalyi was introduced to Comaneci at the age of six. She would later be Romania's gymnastics coach. She first competed in the national junior championships of 1969 placing 13th and she won the competition in the year 1970. She won three golds in her very first contest in a junior pre-Olympic meeting in 1972 for the communist bloc nations. The following year, 1973 as well as 1974 she won the junior all-round champion. At her first competitive event at the senior level, Lyudmila Turkishcheva from Russia took home five gold medals, as well being awarded a silver. She won the American Cup in New York City in 1976 becoming the first woman in history to complete the backward double salto in dismounting from the uneven bars parallel to each other. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her career in the world of entertainment began in her teens when she started skating figure alongside her younger twin sister Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol ventured into the entertainment business during her teenage years. Early on she was a figure skater on the show Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. The shows featured theatrical ice-skating performances.
