Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American singer-dancer and actress. Early Broadway performances included Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to Ashford for her role as Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford spent her career collaborating with acclaimed actors and directors in the stage, film and TV and she is continuing her award-winning project with various upcoming ones. Ashford's next venture will be a limited edition Hulu series called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford is starring alongside Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently filming on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust which stars Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The movie will air on Disney DTC as it becomes a Hulu Original. Ashford will return to Broadway on March 20, 2023 in which he'll be starring alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production will be held at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will direct the production. Ashford was Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story Impeachment, inspired by the scandal which was involving Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp during the national crisis. Her two-season stint on the CBS show B Positive was her first big character. The show was written by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. The show also included Ben Vereen as well as Hector Elizondo. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the originating part of Lauren In Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway roles.
